Hi everyone...thanks for reading this. I am so lost. I have a 96 ford explorer and the WAY back speaker is blown. I was told by someone that the only way I can have this replaced is through ford. Is this true? I have really no idea what to expect to pay and I do not know where to go to get this done. I am from wisconsin....I dont want to spend too much money on a sub, but I want it to sound good. Please help with any suggestions...I don't even know where to start. THANKS ALOT for your help!!!!!
Yup a 6 1/2" sub... was told it was an 8" but when I went to go have it replaced last week in my wife's car and found out that it was in fact only a 6 1/2".
Not enough to do squat, so I threw in 2 - 10"s Audiobahns and a Lightning Audio 450 watt Amp.
The stereo shop bypassed the factory amp for the door speakers so that I could maintain my factory headunit and be able to adjust the bass to the subs with the factory bass control without popping the door speakers.
I got the whole kit and installation for about $400 bucks not to bad around these parts.
I tried removing the sub in a 98 explorer but it just will not budge. I can only spin it around like a steering wheel. Where Can i get the info to remove it?
