C6 kickdown question

I have a 460 in a 78 f-100 I was wondering if there is anyway to get it to shift at a higher rpm. I have the adjustment screw all the way out already and it is shifting at 3800 I would like to see it shift at 5000rpm.

Thanks

Stock 460?

Probably won't go past 4500.

Shift points... modulator, maybe not. May adjust firmness but not wot rpm

Valve body modified with shift kit, I think....

Hold the phone, more answers to come...BUT, if you have a stock 460, it probably won't rev past 4500.

it's not a stock 460 and the C6 already has a stage two shift kit.

the only way to get this shift point will be
to pull it down to 1st manually any then upshift manually

The WOT shifting is mainly controlled by the governor, not by the modulator. Modifying governors is a black magic art. You might want to find an older trans shop that works on high performance transmissions. You need to remove weight from the governor weights, or add stronger springs, or a combination of both. It probably will take a bit of trial and error to get where you want to be.

If you mean the screw in the modulator it must be turned in, not out.
Turning it in lowers and softens the shift points.
But you will have to get into the governor to raise them a whole bunch..
