NEW Alberta Roll Call!
Ah, the dreaded stepside tailgate.
Hate to say this but it was discontinued years ago.
The only way to do it now is to get a fullsize gate and cut it in half and stitch it back together after removing a bit of the middle.
Otherwise there's some here in Edmonton that are parts only, I'd ask them (on kijiji)
Once you find a good one, secure it ASAP.

I have seen this truck a lot!! Very nice. I have a 53 merc 1 ton, all original no rust. And my Grandpa had a 47 merc short box, original v8 4 speed. bought off his bros estate sale, had it since 1949. We half restored it together, and sold it to MLA Ian Donovan. He is finishing the resto! miss that truck... anyway, good to see a truck I recognize, probably see it again soon!
Kevin from Edmonton Kingsway area, didn't even know this Alberta Forum was here. Just traded my '09 FX4 Screw for a '13 FX4 Screw with the 5.0 I thought about the Eco, but I'm old fashioned I guess and went with the V8, and I am not regretting it. Love the truck
First of all Howdy fellow FTE folks, and fellow Albertan's!
Kevin from Edmonton reporting in. I used to be a long time lurker and am now a new member here. Used to be a Chev guy and then I bought my first 02 Ford F150 XLT Ext Cab 7700 series truck. Originally was scared to death and thought it would be eating the fuel, but the truck has been awesome on gas!
Have had no major issues with it, only thing I have replaced that is minor really is just the alternator and battery ( 1st time for both ) other than it's just been your regular maintenance like Oil changes every 5000Kms and the regular things.
A friend of mine took a job overseas and was selling a lot of his stuff as it wasn't feasible to keep/ship there. One of the things I bought from him was his 2009 fifth wheel ( which was in awesome shape.
So I am now on the hunt for either an F250 or F350 to pull the trailer with and a new vehicle for the family ( well really a new toy for me...lol ) (but shhh don't tell her that)
I have been gleaning some information from some of you F250 and F350 owners here and elsewhere ( don't know if I am allowed to say where and I don't wan't to say where in case I get into trouble.
Anyways test drove the Dodge and CHEV/GMC 3/4 and 1 ton trucks and while the Dodge was nice, I wasn't thrilled by them. The Chev/GMC were nice as well, but it didn't really grab me and they seemed a tad hard on fuel.
Test drove some Ford F250 and F350'S and man those are some sweet sweet rides ( maybe I am biased due to my 02 F150 being such a solid vehicle) But I liked the look and damn take about comfortable... and I couldn't believe how quiet the 2013 diesel's are, no having to shout over the engine to tell someone something and this was standing right beside the hood!
So I am still hunting and trying to decide between the two and whether to go use or new (bought my 02 used and it's been awesome) So ai have been on the hunt and just researching the various F250's and F350's and the various engines and wheell bases, options towing capacity's etc.
So I look forward to gleaning some information from my fellow Albertans and the rest of the FTE community. From what I have seen and read in the various forums here at FTE and the posts within them there are some very knowledgeable folks here, so look to me to sponge some of it from you.

Hi There Puddy, Midnitite. Thanks for the welcome fellas. I did apply to join the chapter for AB , but I don't believe it has been approved yet ( maybe cause I said the C & D word )lol
Still snooping around for a truck yet, but this crappy weather sure isn't making that fun... for me or the salesmen. Missed buying a 2012 F350 Crew Cab Lariat 6.7 at the auction damn dealer out bid me went for 56k but there was only 1169 kms on it.
I did go and bid on another 3 2012 F350 CREW CAB XLT 6.7's that all had just a tad over 230Kms on em with 10 hours on the engine, but they all sold for 61k and I am positive it was dealers again. Hard to compete with their bank roll.
So the search contunes, at the rate the weather is getting colder it could be with the winter parka on.
