I think my hearing got better lately. All the little noises are driving me nutty.
Found my rear bumper has come loose (thumping). Hitting a bump it would bounce. Got her tightened down.
Heard this (hammer hitting empty coffee can) noise under the hood hitting bumps. Found out my IC tube was hitting the pump bolt (i think it was the power stearing pump, i can't remember) It wore through the Insulation on the IC and it shined up the bolt to the pump. If I jiggled the IC it would Hit. That aluded me. I been searching for it for a while. Fixed.

Now on to the the other quiet down projects.

Got a couple questions on the #8 kocking Tapping:
Ordered the HPX cross over tube.
Ordered a new fuel filter.
Ordered supplies for the In Tank pre pump mod
Did a fuel pressure check. (56 psi after one minute idle it went up to 58)
Would you suggest changing out the LL injector? Or replacing the LL with a non LL after the Fuel line mod?

Last question. I feel a thumping Jiggle under my feet floor board when hitting little bumbs. I suspect bushings. Ball joints are good. shocks apear to be ok. Not a brake pad jiggle. So leaning towards bushings. Does anyone have a website i can go to to see a precedure for changing bushings? And were to get the bushings?

It is a truck tinkering Addiction for sure. All i think about is tinkering. And searching this forum for stuff just about all night.

The thumping jiggle under your feet is most probably the sway bar end links. if you crawl under your truck and wiggle them you won't feel any looseness but they are still loose. Energy Suspension makes a kit to replace the bushing ends and the sway bar bushings. don't have the number in front of me now but someone will chime in with it soon. i wouldn't worry about the injector. most just do the mod and leave the rest stock. You should have considered a career in equipment repair.
Finding that sort of stuff can be maddening and you seem to be able to get the job done.

You'll never get rid of the #8 tap tap tap tap at idle. But I still would change out the injector for the piece of mind knowing that all eight cylinders are getting an equal amount of fuel injected while the engine is under load.

i had the same probem with IC tube hitting the power steerig bolt..it wore a hole thought the pipe before i found it...here is a link for some good bushings..it will link you to the early 99..you will need to find your set.

After doing the fuel mod I will consider swapping out the LL. I relize the tapping may never go away from what i read. But worth a shot. And to make all cylinders all equal make sense.
