98 E350 Ball Joint removal
Ok I am down to the part where I remove the knuckle from the spindle and cant get it to move. I have removed the castle nut which holds the lower ball joint. Do I just beat the old ball joint out? Or is there a way to easily remove the spindle from the knuckle? Also do I remove the steering arm??? that is attached to the knuckle or leave it and press the new ball joints in on site?

Get a pickle fork type ball joint seperator ( quite cheap) and use that to seperate the ball joint. You can do it by just bashing with a large hammer but the seperator makes things so much easier. You can use it also for the steering arm and have everything on the bench.
