Alpine Amp

Hey me and my buddy are trying to figure out a fair price for me to buy his old amp. It's an Alpine V12 2 channel 400 watt amp. The model is MRV T501. It's probably about 4 years old. It's in good shape. He paid around $400 new. Anyone have any ideas what this is worth ballpark. I haven't been able to find one on Ebay. Thanks for the help.

probably no where near the 400 he paid for it. You could walk out of sears with a 400 watt amp for 100-200 bucks. Around sept or Oct are the best times to look, when they change the model yrs and clearance the old stuff out.

I usually figure a dollar for evey RMS watt (not max) it puts out is a fair price new. Used, maybe 25 to 75 cents, depending on the quality and how many goodies come with it (does it have a LR 24db/oct xover? any bass boost? etc). I know alpine lost alot of their following about 5 yrs ago. I heard alot of guys say they not what they used to be, but I can't say first hand.
