<TABLE width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top>Hey, so im having troubles finding places to put sound equiptment in my 1973 F250 Highboy. Its a single cab, and the only place i could imagine putting a subwoofer would be in the glove box (the inside of the glove box is ripped out). Then comes amps and speaker placement. Any help??

He's got a gas tank back there, so I guess not everybody did what you did. Highboys(and several of the pre 79 trucks) had a 19.5 gallon gas tank behind the seat and it takes up ALL of the room back there.
Gotcha, my bad. I just dont know my Highboys. My first suggestion would be to convert it to bucket seats instead of a bench(again not sure what they come with), and build a box that would fit inbetween the buckets. If you wanted to get custom with it you turn it into a center counsol/subwoofer box. If you have a bench and want to keep it that way you could still do a center council/sub box or sub box and put it in the red square in the picture. Or if you wanted to go all out, make some custom door panels to house an 8" 10" shallow mount sub if you wanted.
The glove box idea is very intresting. But i dont think there would be enough space for a proper sub box... In my 69 I went with the box over the trans tunnel. I had 2 8"s and also 1 12" and both sounded ok.... Eventually it will get buckets and a pair of 12"s in a custom console...
Do you have an idea's for the glove box thing? I would like to hear how you would get that to work. Would be intresting.

My truck has a manual tranny, so putting anything on the trans tunnel wont work. The bucket seats are a good idea, but considering im only 16, money isnt very abundant for something like that. I suppose i could do a little at a time.

Could I cut a section from the middle of the seat and put in a sub box/console? Or would that be more trouble than it is worth?
I would have to say more trouble than worth it. I'm kind of in ur situation. I have a bench seat, but i am looking for bucket seats to put in it. I'm looking through craigs list, and auto junk yards by my house. You might want to think about doing that to.
Maybe a set of econoline seats... I got some on the cheap for my truck... To bad i didnt get a chance to install them...
As for cutting the seat it might be ale to be done... Maybe cut out part of the seat... Then make a box to slip down in there and cover part of the seat where you cut... i dont think it would be to spendy either... Maybe do that for temp until you get ready for some buckets...

Exactly, if I cut the seat it would strictly be temporary until i can afford buckets. Im thinking craigslist and ebay will be my best choich for creap parts, i dont really like the idea of spending $1200 for a new seat
when i had my 2 door 69 i took the bench of of its sliders and built a square frame and mounted 2 dodge ram seats to it then built a box to hold 2 12s that pointed down that mounted to the square frame. the seats came from a swap meet, $50 the frame was bolted together and cost about $30 the box i made my self and cost $20 for the sheet of MDF, and the subs and amps i had, it was soooooooo loud. plus it was nice to have a center consel. and come to think of it i was only 17 at the time, had my dads help but was also low on funds.
You could even get one of those pre-fabbed Bandpass boxes from a local retait store and then pull the ports stick them so they are outside the box then drill out the small holes in the cab and slide the box with ports right in.
