This is a continuation of the two-tone paint thread. Anyway, I have a metal tag attached to the firewall of my '66 F-100 that looks sort of like a buck tag. It looks like a factory stamped tag. It reads as follows:
This is a continuation of the two-tone paint thread. Anyway, I have a metal tag attached to the firewall of my '66 F-100 that looks sort of like a buck tag. It looks like a factory stamped tag. It reads as follows:
41 2880D 4
2880 are the last 4 digits of the truck's VIN
Not sure what the rest of it means. Any ideas?
There no decoder for buck tags, AFAIK.
On the later (1973 and up) trucks, 4 refers to a bench seat. Since these trucks could be ordered with bucket seats (Ranger package), that might be what 4 refers to.
What is the 5th digit of your trucks VIN?
What is the DSO code on your trucks Warranty Plate??
