I got to put my truck to work for the first time today. I pulled our Kubota backhoe to Jonesville VA. It's 152 miles round trip, with plenty of mountains. I actually was about 10 mph faster going up powell mountain with my truck than in my dad's 6oh. I'm in love, and just had to tell somebody.
Thanks,
Huck
It's nice to get out and use these things for what they were designed for isn't it? It's even better to have a 10 year old vehicle that you won't hesitate to hook up to a trailer and go.

I love the sound they make when pulling a hill with a heavy load and the engine has to go to WOT to maintain speed. Exhaust bellowing, turbo screamin', boost hovering around 22-24 psi.
All the exhaust flutter disappears and the motor is pulling like a team of oxen.

I second that, just towed for the first time after putting my 4" turbo back exhaust on, good lord what sweet thunder! Can't wait to do MORE
Nice I'm so jealous, I haven't had a good road trip since i got the truck. I used to tow a trailer from all over California and now that I have the 7.3 haven't had any trips.

I love hooking my truck up and seeing what I can pull around with it, havent had anything give me any trouble yet.
I haven't found anything I couldn't pull yet, somethings a little slower but they still moved(grudgingly). My tranny lasted til 169k and it spent its life towing, snowplowing and pulling wagons in the fields, not to mention daily driver.
