I'm in the process of restoring my 65 CC...in a few weeks, all the pieces will be coming back from my paint guy and I'll begin the reassembly process....I don't want to put my rusted old fasteners back on the truck as everything will be newly painted...does anyone know a good source of NOS or reproduction fasteners for the 61-66 f100 and f250's? Thanks for the help!
In reassembling 65f100 I used 'restoration specialties', found lot of the hard to find hardware. On couple occasions sent them an item to see if they could come up with match. If should decide to order anything from them, request a catalog.
Have never purchased anything from the other links. Occasionally find hard to come by fasteners in a quality hardward, or automotive body and or paint store, but far and few in my area.
AMK products has a lot if not all the fasteners. I have a book with them all in it and can get you a pic of it. Most of the bolts are same as 66 comet/fairlane
Does that catalogue you mentioned here have the parts by Ford part numbers? The problem I am having is that, while I can describe the parts I need, I don't have the part numbers to identify them correctly.

yes I should be able to get part numbers in a cross reference catalog

You're in the right state.
Located in Bend is Dearborn Classics (dearbornclassics.com), and while it's a place that specializes in car stuff, many of the fasteners are the same as the trucks used.
Things like: moulding clips, screws, misc hardware, body mount bolts, barrel clips, etc, Give them a call for their latest free catalog: 800-252-7427.
Other items of interest will be decals, misc mechanical parts (Galaxies used many of the same parts the trucks used), all kinds of stuff.
Wait'll you take a look in their catalog, it's mind blowing!
btw: There are no Ford part numbers listed in most cases. This is also true of most catalogs from anyone today, and here's the reason.
Ford requires repro and obsolete parts sellers to pay a LICENSE FEE to use their logos, Ford part numbers, etc.
One of the only catalogs where Ford part numbers are listed is from Dennis Carpenter.
What DC reproduces is also mind blowing. DC had a huge display at the F100 SuperNats in Knoxville, TN.
I had no idea that so much stuff for 1965/66's has been reproduced. It's totally friggen amazing what can be bought in today's world!
On the other hand if you hand a vibratory tumbler then you wouldn't need new fasteners, bolts, nuts and the like. Just drop them in with some media, turn it on and let them tumble around for awhile. Come out looking new and rust free. Then there can be no doubt they are period correct for the truck.
You are right about that Dearborne catalogue Numberdummy...mind numbing is a good word for it....it made me wish I still had my 63 Galaxie XL....they have complete interior kits for every ford car imaginable. Do they have a retail store? I want to take all of the fasteners and stuff I need for my truck and pay them a visit to see if they can match them up with their 60's car fasteners. I wish I could find upolstery for my F100 that looks as good as the stuff in the Dearborne catalogue....why don't they carry Ford truck stuff?

Dunno if they have a retail store or not...never been there. Call their 800 number and see if they do.
They do carry some truck stuff, but only when it's the same the cars used.
One thing they do have is original colors for interiors (for sheet metal) in spray cans. Many of the trucks have the same color interiors as the cars did.
I've dealt with them many times, I have two 1963 Galaxie 500XL's.
I sold my 63 XL 20 years ago to a guy from Finland who shipped it offshore...I think I got $2000 for it then...now it would likely be work 10 times that! What's your opinion about buying a parts cleaner and trying to clean some of these fasteners?
Neighbor uses a crook pot filled with anti freeze and lets them set in the solution for several hours, never tried it myself. I use a wire wheel mounted on bench grinder if there only a few. For quantity, fire up compressor and use pressure blaster rigged up the cabinet sandblaster so cleaning parts, panels, and fasteners can be done in quik order. That being said, found majority of the 'j' and 'u' nuts for the front clip were rusted and stripped, so suggest replacing, long with tube nuts, and trim clips, think you will find reassembly less stressful or time consuming.

There is a very easy way to remove rust etc from your hardware. Evapo-Rust! Its safe for environment easy on your hands (like dish soap) you just drop them in wait a few hours and they come out looking like new! It will remove any and all rust.
I would be glad to do a before and after. I use it on pretty much all my suspension items inc driveshaft, springs, spindles, brakes etc. Pretty much anything that should be natural.
You can then have parts replated if need be.
Part numbers are avail on most items too if you have the right books. On the Boss Mustang I just finished had part numbers for every screw clip nut bolt etc.
