thought that i had my cab on just right then went and tried the font end with no luck. I looked at the back of the truck and had a half inch difference from side to side in cab height. you guys got any pointers on how to install the bonus built cab with stock compenents? it just doesnt seem to sit right.
Are your rear supports shot? Do you have the rubbers in them?
You can shift the cab L - R a little on the rear supports by pushing on it, which sort of swings it in an arc on the rear mounts, so the distance to frame changes too.
I have all new rubber mounts on the cab. the big block like rubbers that go between the frame and the arms are the biggest pain, and I think thats why the cab is at such a different height in the rear. Where the fenders meet at the cab is where the alignment issues happened. the drivers side fender is much lower than the passenger fender.
the three slots that are rolled into the back of the cab are what i was measuring from. the drivers side was 1 3/4" (to the frame) while the passenger side was 1 1/8" (to the frame).
Interesting.... my driver's side fender is over an inch lower than the right. Are you using glass fenders or original steel? I can't find where the cab is wrong, the cowl is level, and it sits level at the back.
I have steel fenders but most of them are from a donor truck as mine were some what crumpled in the side impact a few years ago. I have checked the mounts and none are twisted, but the rear of the truck does sit 5/8" different from side to side. the front sits all the way down on the front four mounts but because of the big difference in the rear I thought this was the problem. Just wasted a day trying to get it resettled with no such luck and cant think of what else the problem maybe. Maybe I am just overthinking it, but to me a 5/8" is a lot in such a short distance.
Try jacking it up under the low side, see if it swings over as it's lifted. But that doesn't sound like your problem. In my case, I am about convinced the inner fender is not original, and has holes drilled slightly off where it bolts to the cab. I also want to try adjusting the radiator saddle, as the inner fenders bolt to that.
