I have a '59 F100. I've had it 12 years and it has
been a great truck. The cab is in great shape except for rust on the front cowel and the
front cab mounts (right behind the front wheels). It is just rotted away. On the passenger side right below the lower door hinge is also gone. Does anyone have any ideas? Am I better off finding another cab or another truck?
Thanks for the help, sid
From what I've been able to find the 57-60 fords are bad for rust at the lower rear of the front fender, and front cab mount, the rear cab corner, and the rear of the bed below the tail lights. I've looked at 4 different trucks and all had rust at same spots. And I haven't found anybody how makes replacement sheet metal for anything other then the fender. My 60 has rust everwhere but the cab corner. I'm thinking of making my own floorboard and cab mount. I almost forgot the lower door skins rust out too. Good Luck.
I replaced the cab on my 58f100 and still had to rplace the corners and floor parts and it came from denton tex, alot of parts are availible body wise but not cab supports or floor pans, check any old ford truck catolog or vintage ford in sacremento 58f100
