help please

I have a 79 f250 with a 400m and 4spd granny 4x4 I laso have a 88 f250 diesel with a 5spd 2wd can that trans be put into the 79 with out much trouble. thanks for your help.

No the bellhousings are different and the bellhousing is cast into the 5spds case, it is part of the tranny and cannot be removed.

with a 400 engine, you will need a 5 speed from a 460 4X4
