Let me make sure I am clear. I want to check voltage at the connection to the neutral safety switch on the transmission? I check this with the key turned to "start" with the selector in park and in neutral?
Well, user rbaker and I have run into a dead end. I am now supposed to check the neutral safety switch on the side of the tranny. Is that the same thing as the transmission safety switch or what "chilton's" calls the transmission range sensor?
If so, do i check for voltage where the wiring harness plugs into the switch/sensor?
do i have to have someone turn the key to start (i assume so!)? Do I check for voltage when the selector is in park and in neutral? If I have voltage there, how much is a switch and how difficult is it to replace?
the diagram I have for the range sensor is for a '99 assumining it's the same
power comes to switch on pin 10 or DB/O wire circuit 325
power leaves switch to starter relay at pin 12 or T/R wire circuit 1093
am assuming DB/O = dark brown/orange and T/R = tan/red
I don't have a complete wiring diagram to see if wire is hot with ignition on or only in start position
