I put $60.00 of cheep gas in my 66 F100 yesterday. My ol truck never thought it would live long enough for someone to be man enough to shove $60.00 worth of gas in it's tank. Gas in NC was about $.18 per gallon when my truck hit the scene.

Had I have been filling my tank in 1964 it would have cost me $6.90 to fill.
Today it cost me $93.15 for a 23 gal. tank
I'm just glad I make more an hour then they did back then. But it still hurts.
Oh does it ever!!!!
Its seems backwards; gallon should be the cost an the cost should be the number of gallons. I run 93 octane in my 65 model and going higher everyday hurts my feelings and my wallet everytime I fill up. Thank God I don't use it as a daily driver.
When will it ever end.
The sad thing it jumps up 5 to 10 cents at a time and only lower's a peeny at a time.
ya...you want depressing...I just saw a news report of a few gas stations getting batches of bad gas...people SHELLing out huge sums for premium and getting a few blocks before it takes a dump....I believe one guy said he paid something like 60 bucks or so...
Oh...heres a tip for all of us guys with old trucks...BUY A LOCKING GASCAP IF YOU DONT ALREADY HAVE ONE !!!!!!!!!!

When the gas truck is refilling the stations gas tanks-go somewhere else. When gas is pumped into these tanks, it stirs up all the chit at the bottom, and guess where it goes...
Is the gas from the filling stations pump going into your tank kinda slow? The filling stations tanks are low. This means = more chit in your tank!
C4RZ-9030-C .. Locking Gas Cap-Comes with Two Keys (Motorcraft FC-91) Obsolete
Bill,is that cap the one with the sliding cover over the key slot?I think that's what Flashy's gallery shows as an option for the 57-60's,believe it has a red painted ring around it.I want one of those!
Yah I just topped of the boats reserve tank yesterday at the fuel dock. 10 gal/ $54.04 for premix. Jesus!!!!!!!!! and I really love the way the blatantly charge more during the holiday "when they are bound to sell more gas to begin with" On the upside the beaches were absolutely empty "all of them" so their plan didn't pay off to well did it ?

the other thing they should do if its not a locking gas cap... get some sort or screen and stick it over the filler neck on the tank itself and stick the rubber hose back on... it will help keep hoses from being shoved down there... and if the *********s get smart enough to try to break it out... chances are they will make some noise... and you can grab em...

Took a little trip a couple weeks ago to help a friend get his new ride home. From SE Iowa to Little Rock, Arkansas and back. Filled before I ran a few erands on Saturday, $115.00. Topped it of before I hooked the trailer up, $35.00. Gas by Springfield, MO, $87.00. Gas at Branson, MO on the way back, $107.00. Topped it off again just 20 miles from home ($125.00). Averaged 11.9 miles per gallon for the whole trip (1999 F250/V10 4x4 pulling an open trailer and hauling a 1955 Chevy 2 door sedan). What a fun day, glad he bought all the gas! $469.00 in gas in 24 hours.

No sliding cover, as C4RZ-9030-C replaced all the previous caps used from 1948 thru 1963.
The type with the sliding cover...(the first original type (01A-9030) has Ford in script on it), has been reproduced.
This cap also fits some of the cars, all the way back to 1940.
