im back home

well im home again i got my toyota back from california
here is a picture of it on my most heavly loaded portion of the trip rolled across the scales with a gross weight of 15400 lbs with full fuel tanks acualy was overweight on the rear axel by about 80 lbs with the tanks topped off.

sitting has takin some toll on my ole toyota but its still not too bad, the clear coat has some substantial sun dammage, the seat foam is probably going to turn to dust as soon as i sit in it. all the tires are dry rotten, 1 blew out while it was sitting but the spare held air, another one only holds air long enough to get it on or off a trailer, i have not tryed starting it yet but that will come soon

get her going again and drive her, probaby give it a new paint job as well. im probably spending more money on this truck rather than just buying another one, but this one dosent have even 1 spec of rust on it and its the truck i took my drivers test in when i was 16 i left it in california when i moved and my mom drove it for a few years after that and then a couple of the syncros started going out in the trans and then the head gasket blew, its been parked in the California desert sense 1995. ill probably pull the engin and trans send the trans off to the shop pull the head from the motor and get the valves re done and the head resurfaced get the block hot tanked and maby re-ring and new bearings depending on what it all looks like when i get it apart.

We have the exact same trailer at work I pull it sometimes with my truck I find it to be a real heavy trailer.

Nice load by the way, back of your truck is sagged out a bit lol guess that's from the 15400 pounds lol ,a set of air bags would get rid of that

154 I would have pulled the tags off the doors and let it roll. Why is your truck sagging with that weight? That should only be about 7k as a load, trailer weighs close to 2 k, truck 2200, quad 900, tractor 500, that leaves about 1500 in the bed, What gives???

the back was sagging so much becouse of the arangmenet and stuff, theres also a big welder generator in the bed of the ford as well as a roto tiller and some wheel weights, my rear axel weight was over 6k i would have to look at my weight ticket again to tell you the exact number. if i would have aranged some stuff differnet it wouldent have been as bad but it was alot more convenet to load the way that i did becouse of the order the pickups and drop offs,

I am blind, Just noticed it was a 250. Where are you booking your loads thru? I have a few that are out that way that we have to send to other service providers, some hotshot loads as well. Maybe I can help you out......

my username is Ezrider92356 on uship, u ship is ok but some of them guys in there are so cut thought i wouldent even get in my truck for the price people bid somtimes. its like they dont realize how expensive fuel is yet. but uship seems to be good for some back hauls here or there but not realy a good primary source

you arent kidding. I see peopld on there bidding at about 80 to 90 cents a mile still. Even if the industry std is 1.25 like for campers, and slightly higher for boats, they jump right in. By the time they drive 20 hours, they make 100 bucks after paying for fuel. I can see some guys consolidate loads though, we do it too to try to make some smaller things feasable, but we still get chopped. I just checked out that yesterdays tractors, it isnt bad. Now what we need to do is find the long high pay loads from me to you, meet in the middle and switch, LOL

well it depends how much weight you plan on hauling on how much you have to do, but registering your truck as a commerical vehical registering with the dot for your dot/mc numbers and a million dollar insurance policy will get you started. if the weight ratting of your truck/trailer exceeds 26001 you need a class A cdl. so if you have a truck rated for 9k and a trailer rated for 18,k even if your unloaded you need to have a class A. as well as you have to declare the carry weight on your truck (how much you pay in road taxes) to keep your weight legal.
