IMO bondo will cruble only if it's poorly prepped and applied. I've seen lots of speaker builders use it to smooth out contours with few problems.

I am thinking about trying to make a mold of it out of just fiberglass then if someone wanted to buy it they could put whatever they wanted into the hollow space (cooler, subwoofers, gun safe, etc).
