Well glad to be back working on the truck. Got swamped with work and never got to finish the power brake conversion.
However last I left off I had a proportioning valve but was having no luck finding all the adapters and such to make lines fit so I started searching around today and found this SSBC Brake Distribution & Proportioner.
Has anybody used this or had experiance with it? Seems perfect with the 3/16" size for all the lines plus the built in sensor for brake pressure to activate the taillights.
What is your proprtioning valve off of. If it is O.E. Ford you shouldn't need any adapters, just the lines from the donor. I just mount the valve in the same location as it was on the donor. Good luck!
If you're not going to use the lines from the donor (not recomended), cut the lines close to the proportioning valve. This way you get the connectors to use when you fab up your new 3/16 lines. I know what you are talking about. I noticed two of the plugs were different sizes when I went to get my parts. The lines are still 3/16, they just have different size connecting plugs.
Thanks guys, I do know about just taking the lines off the donor truck but I do not physically have the donor truck with me and getting junkyards in my area to take time to pull small parts like the lines just isnt' something they typically want to do. Most here do not even let the customer to into the yard to pick off their own parts.
I already have all my new lines built so was just looking for a solution to having to find adapters that do not exist in any of the stores I have checked locally plus for a cleaner look. Having adapters all over the setup just isn't very clean.
Appreciate the help guys and hope to have my 66 back on the road soon.
