Un-plug the red/white power wire to the brain box and turn the ignition to the run position. You can take a simple circuit test light and see if the red wire has power. Then take the connector off the coil and test the red wire at the coil. I would still guess the ballast resister is blown and you will not have power at the coil in the run position.
ArdWrknTrk TESTED THE PICKUP AND IT WOULD PEG MY METER ALL THE WAY ,,,COULD THIS MY BE THE PROBLEM???THANKS EVERY BODY FOR THERE INFO ,,AND STILL GOING CRAZY..LOL..LATER BRO,,,JOE
yes sir i have and also removed the fuel line from carb and she pumps gas as i turn over the truck, every stroke,,,also i pour gas into the carb as it is shutting down and it still shuts down????do you think maybe its the pickup ???ard's mesured 660oms and mine floors the oms meter????

1)What scale was your meter set on? what was the reading, in ohms? If it's infinite you shouldn't have spark.
2)If it's a thick dark green wire connected to the solenoid it is a fuseable link.
At least on my truck... I don't have a schematic for a motorhome, nor do I even know what company manufactured yours.
rx1k is the only seting i have on this meter,,,also was woundering when i removed the fuel line and turned the key over should the ele fuel pump , pump fuel , or only pump fuel wile turning the motor over???
i do believe that the only way i will be able to go camping in this motor home , is if i weld a tow bar on the front bumper and pull it with my super duty f-250...lol...it has got the best of me and i am at the point , to do just that,,,as i do not no what else to do ,,,was thinking of putting a ele inline fuel pump in a 5gal gas can and hook it strait to the carb and see what happens.,.,.,.,.,.,.
You've just said you're getting spark and fuel.
And that directly adding fuel won't keep it running.
How's that going to help?
You need to figure out what is wrong before you can fix it.
It's hard to diagnose ANY problem from 1100 miles away, over the internet.....
If your Multimeter has a 1k ohm scale it would read .66 on my pickup.
thanks to all that has tryed to anser my problem,,,and i sure have learned alot from this site. but this time the truck wins and i lose,,,well i gess it will be a small fortune ,but she has to go to the dealer ,,,yuk,,,sucks,,,but have got to get it fixed so i can sleep ...thanks again JOE
I did a similar thing. In my case I put the battery in backwards and in the dark connected the battery wires to the wrong terminals. That error fried one of the fused wires in the main power circuit.
If you have the wiring schematics you can see where the fused wires are located in the circuit and do a continuity check to see if the fused wire has been over stressed and burned through serving it's purpose. That event also took out my alternator and ignition box. However, I believe you said you replaced the ignition after the event!
Won't hurt to check! This seems to be an electrical issue to me!
e30tdf,,,thanks as that is what i need to do ,,,take off all the tape were the fuesable linke are and trace it all the way to were ever that my be,,thanks for the welcome,,JOE
