Thats right, you don't have to have tail pipes. You can just dump it out of the muffler with a turndown. It sounds mean like this. I had mine setup like this. It was my favorite for the way it sounded, but it resonated too much inside the cab to where I couldn't talk on the phone and could barely hear the radio without cranking it up.
If you get tips, just make sure you get stainless ones. I got mine on ebay for 25 bucks. Also if you get tips get at least 3 or 3.5 inch. Otherwise it looks too small and 4 inch or bigger just look too big. If you run tailpipes go with 2.5 inch its deeper and sounds better than 2.25 inch. Don't go any smaller than 2.25 though.

Thanks. I'll do some experimenting this weekend with no pipes and straight out of the muffler. I think my pipes are 2.5 dont remember they might be 2.25 so if anything I'll go a bit bigger if I dont like the look of no pipes.
