I think you'd be better off with a 300 six. It's a Ford, and it has better low end torque, better for a truck.

Or keep the "302":

Just a couple mods and 500 horse...

I do not know....... only 18,000 USD....and then all I need are the engine/tranny mounts, carb, headers, exhaust, rad, accessories, tranny, driveshaft, misc linkages, etc, etc......... so throw in another 5,000 USD just to be safe.........
Hhhhhmmmmm I wonder if the wife will miss 23,000 from the bank account................. We can always eat next decade

Nice but still a little out of budget
There are some very nice Ford engines on that site....would bolt right in........ oh yeah still got that food thing to worry about...........
Think I will stay with the "new" 302 I built, but dreaming is nice.............. can't wait for the alternative fuel engines like the plasma drive, nuclear fusion reactor, warp field generator, etc etc then the price of these hydrocarbon fueled engines will drop drastically and they will probably give the gas away LOLOLOLOL
