My run to the F100 Nats
Last week we ran my 57 F100 (original 272,3sp,325 gears) and my buddy Mikes 56 to the Nats. 500 miles one way. We put about 1500 miles on them for the entire week. Both trucks ran flawlessly. I averaged close to 15mpg. Not bad for a 51 year old motor with mileage unknown. Here are a couple pics from trip.

Our shack for the week. The view from the back porch was spectacular of the Smoky Mountains. sorry fuzzy pic
I stopped in front of this barn for a quick pic.
This was Walden Creek Stables outside Pigeon Forge. We didn't ride but the old town shop front was cool for some pics. Instead we ran 4 wheelers up the road.
Then I stopped where the old barn was and ask if we could pull down and take some shots. Some of my favorites.

Those are some great shot's of your trucks; I didn't realize you guys drove that far, awesome cruise I'm sure...
I also like the old 51 model park behind your 57 at the show. It brought back memories for my buddy; who was station in the Airforce acouple years after that truck was made. I kid with him that he was probably the driver/ mechanic of that truck.

Mike,
I may have met you Friday. I was talking to your buddy Mike about his 56 and about his seat. I told him where I was going to past pictures. He hollered for one of his buddies to come over so I could tell them because he said he wasnt a computer guy. Hey if I am able to drive my 55 to GSM F100 run I may PM you for directions. The area you all stayed in in the cabins looks ideal for cool backgrounds for truck photos.

Bob, I got all my stuff from Rod at Welcome to Rodney's Classic Trucks Parts . Great people to deal with. Its a 2" drop axle, 4.5" front mono and shorter shocks. Rear is a 6" mono and shorter shocks. All from Rod. I have added a sway bar up front and did have to "C" notch the rear.
