Making hay..(pics)

Made some hay last week (all week!), most I've ever made in one cutting, 172 bales.
Put the truck to work getting them all moved around. Still have 30+ to go. I just put in '05 headlights yesterday, so it looks different yet. Hopefully I can get it all fixed up and cleaned up for RRE!!

Nice.
Envious of the country setting in which you live.

Ah, I remember those days. Nice Pics. Brings back memories.

I made a PVC Roll Cage and Ball Bungied on a canvas to keep the sun off of me. I remember getting sunburn so bad. Now i am waiting for skin cancer to appear

That hay ground is probably some of the biggest hills around. I like to think it's God's Country.
It was some beautiful weather, not just for making hay, but to enjoy in general!

Those are aftermarket headlights and turn signals I got off Ebay. I've since put on '05 lights. One of those was taking on moisture. I might have a whole set, headlights and turn signals, for sale. I think I have two brand new headlights, turn signals may be used. Let me know if you're interested, I could clean out the shop some more.

6' bales, guessing around 1200#. I need to run one to the co-op and set it on the scale. Tractor is a 560 diesel. The motor needs an overhaul, but the rest of it is in really good shape. I like the flat top fenders on it. The previous owner also put some "decking" between the fenders and tractor, so there's a lot of room on it.

I got a pretty nice tan for $1000+ that all cost me. A couple years ago I got burned so bad on my back I couldn't sleep. My back hurt so bad, felt like it was crawling all over, basically stood in the shower under cold water all night. If I wasn't there my wife was rubbing aloe on my back, by the gallons. I learned my lesson.

Dang! That's almost 100 bales more that I have ever got in one cutting...

That is some beautiful country. Y'all are lucky, we're not gonna be getting a second cutting. I'm having to pasture one hay field right now. Darn this drought!

I usually get 50 +/- from the first cutting. But I picked up another 26 acres from a neighbor, isn't great stuff but it actually turned out well. That's the field in the pictures. Got 54 bales off of it. We've been pushed back for so long with rain, everything was so thick and heavy. I was hoping to cut at the first of June and it was July by the time we had 3 dry days in a row.

I guess you have a bigger tractor to pick up those bails? Do you have cattle?

We have an IH 1066 w/a loader, can poke bales front and back w/the 3-point. The skidloader(Case 90XT) in the picture is what I used to unload all the bales. It handles them extremely well.

The truck and trailer had no problem hauling all of the bales. There was probably 20k lbs behind the pickup, including the trailer. We hooked up an old 16' trailer to dad's old '85 F250 that would only hold 5 bales, I felt safer in my truck, and thought it pulled a lot easier.

Hey boy! That trailer is old with no brakes and I told you that my truck had weak brakes. Besides, the F250 pulled the big trailer loaded a few days ago and it pulled it just fine, slowly, but fine. But, yeah, his rig sure works nicely. I can't believe that he made it up some of the hills we had to navigate and he goes through mud really well. Smokes a lot but pulls the load....

we made 400 rolls this first cutting. second isnt going to be very good though. it sure is pretty there though. gives middle tn a run for its money. i managed to sqeeze 13 rolls on our gooseneck at a time this year. it was probably the heaviest load ive pulled with ours so far. i also like the 560 you have there. i have a 460 farm stock pull tractor. ive been wanting to find a 560 diesel like yours to build
