waterpump leak?

I noticed a leak coming from where the lower radiator hose leaves the water pump. Looks like there is a flange that is bolted to the pump that the hose goes onto. The leak seems to be coming from where the flange meets the water pump. Where is the best place to get a new pump? Or do i need just the flange? Also any tips on fixing this? Thanks

Thanks rbaker... Do i just get this oring from the local parts store or is this a dealer only part? I have to drain the whole system to do this right? Thanks again, hopefully that is all it is and i don't need to replace the pump.

I think is a dealer item
unless you need to flush system, just drain radiator in a clean container the strain and reuse coolant

I'm not midnight, but I recently did my water pump 99 F350psd. $145 new Advance Auto, other cheaper ones out there. 3 hours job done right, no shortcuts. Large wrench needed to remove fan clutch or pull shroud with whole assembly. I think my water pump was original (240,000 Mi). I had previously replaced said o ring which is about a 40 minute job. Watch out on after market thermostat as not all have the proper gasket program. Dealer thermo safest way to go. O ring available at dealer and it was less than 10 maybe 5 bucks.

Ponch,

You should go with a 203° thermostat and billet housing first. If you still have a leak you can put these on the new water pump.

Thermostat HERE Billet Housing HERE

Your leak was from the lower connection, right? The thermostat issue was if you replaced the water pump.

My bad Ponch. You were talking about the lower pipe. Trying to watch "Deadliest Catch" and read at the same time.

Here are part numbers for both O-rings:

THERMOSTAT Housing O-ring # F4TZ-8255-A
LOWER PIPE O-ring # F81Z-8255-AA

Keep in mind the 203 and billet housing if you do a new pump.

I used a standard o-ring from a Harbour Freight o-ring kit, whole kit was only ten bucks, and it sealed better than the factory style square cut o-ring. And yes you can buy the o-ring at any good parts store, I bought one in town and returned it because I like the way my o-ring fit better. Good luck, it really is an easy fix as long as one of the bolt heads don't round off like it did for me.
