My A/c blow cold then stops for no reason, I get hot air.
When the air stops the compressor is stopped also.
The pressure is around 42 psi when compresor running, 100psi when not.
Sometimes its cold all day, sometimes 10 minutes.
If I turn it off for a few minutes, usually it resets.
I tried to bypass the safety switch in the dryer, didn't help.
What am I looking for?
Just watch out! i just got stranded & acutally had to tow my truck home because mine was doing that, i thought it was ok 'cause it would still work after turning on/off, then (i'm still not sure how) the pulley on my AC compressor siezed. At first i thought the
battery(ies) were dead, because the engine would barely turn over but it was the pulley not turning.
I don't know anything about AC systems, so i don't know if my problem was different from what you guys are experiencing but it sounds the same.
I just wanted to make the point that it may not always be the head-unit. The warm/cold issues could be indicative of a more serious problem. I also happen to live in the hot-*** desert so may AC problems may be unique to my location.
Thanks, I didn't think so but sometime we have different names for the same thing.
Where is the head unit, how much does it cost, how hard is it to replace?
ANYBODY?
