camper 2001 nomad 249LT not sure about what kind of pump i havent taken it out yet
That's a tuffy. I would first look at all the connections, make sure you don't have a leak. Does the water only come out hot at one faucet or kitchen and bathroom. If it is isolated to one faucet that is most likely the problem, it would have an internal crack causing the hot to come out of both sides. Was it in for service since you last used it? Tell us more about the trailer, make model, etc.
Had that happen to me before, spring, first time out and all.
Was the water heater bypass valve. Valves were all open letting the hot water go wherever it wanted.
My first thought was also the h/w heater bypass valves in the wrong position.
as far as pump constantly running...a question...
When you winterized...did you use anti-freeze? and if so...did you winterize the city inlet via pushing the plunger?...and if so...did you happen to push that when the system was pressurized...if so...you may have popped the internal O-ring off the plunger and have a leak outside that you may not notice...turn on the pump and go look at the city inlet to see if water is leaking...that is just a thought on where to look...as it is a common problem if you push that plunger with pressure in the water lines to pop that O-ring...
I agree with others here - I think your valves are positioned worng. I have 2 on mine - one for the 'in' to the h2o heater and one for the 'out' to the rest of the TT.
As far as your pump, on our previous TT we had the same problem. I found that setiment had accumlated in an elbow between the pump and tank - it was enough to restrict flow to the point that the pump wasn't getting enough water to kick off.
But as far as the pump humming, mine will do that until it is primed. I have to crack a faucet so a little water has someplace to go before it will build and hold pressure.
We have forgotten to turn the pump off many times before driving, and for some reason the pump will lose it's prime and then when we get in the coach it will be running and humming. Usually it's after a potty break and the wife forgets to turn the pump off. Something to try anyway.
