I think you'll have better luck in the older truck message board
section. You could try Mac's antique auto part though. I have a 292 in a 59 f-250. That's why I say try the older truck section.
Aww, geez. I thought I was the only one that knew about them :-(
Well, ya beat me to it B!

Nothing, and I mean nothing, stirs the soul, saying I'm a bad **** like lettin'em rip with a window shaking, fuel gulpin, carbon monoxide belchin, attention gettin, V-oh my LORD!-8!
you also may want the yblock book by
James Eickman. It covers a rebuild from
the tear down and back. Plus alot of really
good info on identifying parts as good or bad.
I found it on the yblock site or the 57 ford site.
Also if you are having any machining done, a good
machine shop can get all the parts you need as a
kit just like Kanter, or just the parts you need.
It is usually cheaper to get a kit. I am right in
the middle of a rebuild, motor will be back on Monday.
Dennis Carpenter has a free catalog as well with some
engine parts but certainly the best rubber for Fords
Also depending on where you live Sacramento Vintage Ford
has a good catalog, but I don't think it's free. I hope
this helps.
>where can i get a catalog,
>or information on parts to
>rebuild a tired 292
If you live in Southern California, then you can't do better than John Mummert in El Cajon. He has a web site with rebuild kits and custom parts like roller rockers. The web address is www.ford-y-block.com He is recognized as an expert in rebuilding y-blocks and writes articles for Y Block Magazine. If you want to get a subscription, write to Bruce Young
P.O. Box 1005, Ottawa, IL 61350 or call him at 815-433-1393 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. I highly recommend the mag and many back issues are available that cover a multitude of Y-block topics.
