Hello wise ones. I have a 64 f100 with 292 3 speed. I'm looking for a little more power and was reading that you can bore a 292 up to .125 safely. I am looking either to replace my current one (125,000 miles) with a bored 292 or a larger size. Any suggestions? Should I make installation easy on myself and get the same size or try a larger size? I'm not looking to make a real monster but I would like it to beat a few Chevy's without having to bump them off the road.
A 312 will bolt directly in; no mods at all...
"There's no replacement for displacement!"
If you want REALLY HUGE, go find an old dumper with a 534 in it :-) Won't bolt in, but will fit ;-)
Also you can get a 5 spd and a split rear from the same dumper.
You'd have a REAL stump puller with that one!
