ok, just to let yall know, Demon carburetors work very good on these trucks!
i just put a 750 speed demon on my 410 with mech. secondaries and annular boosters and i swear i must have boosted up a 100hp!
the tires squeal up the driveway at 1/3 throttle. i can cruise around town with the throttle cracked. plus the quality of these carburetors is very good, they are also made of putre zinc so they never corrode.
i got mine for a real good price from a dealer called R&D Racing his name was rich desbiens and his phone number is 952-469-3219. he took nearly $80 off the price of my carb plus he gave me a free line kit.
i highly reccomend buying one of these carburetors if your in the market for one, theyer pretty amazing!
Cool. I was going to get a 650 mechanical edlebrock for my 390 I'm about to build. I've heard about Demon before and they sound good. Isn't a 750 a lil big for the motor though. 410 thats just a 390 with 428 crank flywheel and pistons right. I really wanted to do that build...I'm jealous. Hey what are you running for a camshaft I got a crane cam 343941 on order from two months ago and my parts guys told me its gonna be another month still yet due to crane is out of stock everywhere and need to start production again. He might be full of $#@%.
i didnt build the engine, but it might a mild cam in it. it had a 600 on it which worked but not very well, it needed more air. well, i was told by everybody a 750 was correct including the demon website, sombody even told me to go with an 850. all i know is the engine really likes it.
ive also been told they get amazingly good gas mileage.
I am not surprised that the demon is working great. I prefer a holley over a demon, and will never run an edelbrock carb.
When i switched from an edelbrock 750 to an edelbrock 650, my truck ran exactly the same, like crap. Then i switched from an edelbrock to a holley 650 DP mechanical secondary carb, and just switching the carb form an edelbrock to a holley dropped 2 seconds off of my 1/4 mile time... before i even tuned the holley!!
There is alot of performance overlooked in carbureation and timing / ignition. people sometimes think that the more money you spend on parts, the better an engine will perform. Thats true in part, but a TON of performance can come out of just tuning what you have. Good luck with the new carb, and get a spacer under it so your fuel line isnt rubbing the intake manifold.
Did anyone say anything about how it works offroad on steep inclines?? I checked the chart on applications and I seen its uses on street rods and tow trucks nothing 4x4. Edelbrock does have a 4x4 kit for carbs whick uses spring dampiners in the float bowls I think. Havn't heard much of how well it works though. Or I guess theres the holley offroad avenger too but I stay away from holley.
Well I just bought a 670 CFM Holley Truck Avenger (carb that can take the inclines and angles from the 4x4 trails). How do you guys like this carb? Is it a decent streetable carb? I know it is build for offroad but I heard they were good street too and gave nice low end grunt.

people always say you can pour a handful of sand down an edlebrock, but im not intending on dumping anything into my carb except for gas. as far as edelbrock goes, i dont like em, just cause everybody is so cocky about em, and i dont like how they look
