Need help deciding

I have a chance to get a F150 4x4 rolling frame everything there including a 390.I want to put my F250 body on it so I can have a 4X4. So here is a poll and post your opinion.

I was always told that the C6 is better than the C4.

and of course there is no replacement for displacement.

Thats true but I'm also looking at gas mileage too.

you can probably get almost the same mileage with either of them as long as you don't floor it at every stop sign and keep a steady speed of about 60-63.

but if you want mileage then I'd go with the 351

Go with the 390 all the way. Way more power, and the mileage differences between the two will really only be a couple of MPGs.

I am agreeing with them all, I personally like a 390 more so and a c6 is an awesome tranny. Love mine to death :-) that'd be a good combo.

i vote for what ever you want to do. get what you want.
but if i had both offered to me id choose 390, more Hp easy to get high HP numbers and the c-6 will hold them ponnies.
Just me 2 cents.

Parts are cheaper for the 351W since many interchange with the 5.0

I voted for you to do the 390/C6 swap so you can sell me your 351w!! BTW, make sure it really is a 390 and not a 360...

I'd say 390/C6 as well. The C6 is just too dang good.

I get 15MPG with a 351W but its fuel injected. I think the differences in mileage would be negligible with a carb. How you plan on using the truck would determine my decision. Towing and wheeling I would go C6 with the big motor. If you are just commuting to work and light hauling I would go with the C4/351. Just my opinion.

My 390 had a mild RV cam, some port work, headers, intake, and 650 carb. I got 14 mpg hwy, with 30" tires, 4spd, and 3.73 gears
