292 distributor parts
i have a 292 in a 1957 F600. it has a vacum advance distributor. well, i changed the points and condenser in it. and also put a new cap on it. i put it all back together and turned it over. well when i turned it over it made a clicking noise in the distributor. i took the cap off and took the points back out and noticed that the flat linkage that went through the side of the distributor into that round vacume piece on the side with the spring inside, had pulled completely out and bent around the points. what i was wondering was if i could buy the round vacume piece with the spring inside with the little linkage and just replace that instead of the entire distributor? i can make the wires so they aren't any big deal.also why would the linkage have come out of there anyway. i noticed that the the linkage has a hole in the end and i think that it is held on with a couple snap rings. that is how thew part in the distributor is held on. what do you suggest i do to solve this problem?
thanks,

thanks for your suggestion. i was able to find one at my local salvage yard. i had to search through an entire old seyferts chip van full of them to find but i got one. then they had the nerve to charge me $37.10 for it. oh well it runs good now. also almost got the cab interior clean up and ready to paint.
thanks,
