I just bought a 2008 Honda CRF230L, supposed to get 70-80 mpgs when broke in. Honda financing can get you 3.9% for 60 months if you need. I drive 42 miles one way to work everyday, and figured out that between insurance, a payment, and fuel in the bike, I'll spend around $75-95 less a month then putting gas in my 97 TBird....

i have a Focus for my DD and get around 30+MPG it is about 16 miles round trip to work and home, and about 5 to the girl friends house. i used to drive my 70 crew cab once or twice a week, but now i only can fill her up once a month so it have cut my truck driving down some but i still drive just as much as i used to just do more of it in the Focus.

I chopped out some of your post but Dang, 38 bucks an hour and still in college, I wouldnt be complaining either if I was able to bring home 75k a year.

Im an intern, but i dont make near that, so i was "forced" to buy a 2006 yamaha r6. Even with the bike payment, still way cheaper than the 11mpg my lightning gets.

Plus i get to save the environment at the same time, I bet if everyone got fuel efficient means of transportation, we could all become friends with the tree huggers and Al Gore, then we could convince them to let us drill in alaska, and we would have cheap gas again. (Im going to solve the gas prices single handedly)

It's not hittin me too hard... I haven't fueled up my Bronco since May 1, I just use it for trips to the grocery store and such. The rest of the time, I'm ridin around town on my Yamaha R1. It gets 50 mpg, so I really can't complain too much. When I bought the bike, it was less than 10 bucks for 160 miles... now I pay $13-14, which is still excellent compared to that 351.

Gas isn't really hurting me that bad. I'm 19 and going into my second year of college. I don't drive around a whole lot, and if I do I take my car. My daily is a 1999 Saab 9-5, it manages about 35-36mpg highway so I can go pretty far on a single fill up. The other thing I like about it is the turbo four cylinder engine, with a few goodies its around 300hp. I hope one day to make my truck just as fast as it is. My truck has a 460ci V8 and on a perfect day in heaven gets 12mpg. I don't drive it too much though.

I get a whopping 7 MPG. I drive as little as possible. I'm taking a summer class through college, and it's 25 miles one way. I ride the motorcycle to and from class, then get in the truck and go to work (8 miles one way). I drive to my friends house on the weekends, and out to eat once or twice a week (I don't buy any food...just go to hang out with friends). I am cutting costs any way possible...

My 69 F-100 gets around 10-12 mpg. I don't get to drive it as much as I want to. I run errands in my familys 1993 Honda Civic. I would estimate that it gets about 30mpg with dad driving. Going to cullman in dads 79 F-350 costs about $30 but it is usually puling a load of scrap. The honda can do it with detours on $10. My truck gets worse than dads but a 4 barrel holley and a 17 year old driver might be the problem though. I try to drive my truck pretty easy though

Gas is not hitting me hard at all. Paying $5.15 a gallon for refined kerosene with additives sucks. It cost them $.58 a gallon to add the addiditves and ship it. Talking about a sham.

I only drive 2 miles a day so it is not too bad. But I only get 9mpg around town. Next week I start a new job which is maybe 20 miles round trip or so so gas will be more, but I'm getting a higher salary and I will be car pooling with my friend who works at new job so that will help offset the price of gas a bit. He has a 4 cyl. mustang so I think I'll be hinting at him driving more than I do

how hard is gas hitting you?

I think the question should be "how hard is your truck hitting the gas?"

I thinking about setting up an intervention for my f150, cause it's got a gas problem.

Actually I drive about 50 miles a day for work. Did it for a while and then a new guy started at work from the same area as me, started paying him $20 a week to ride with him in his sunfire... saves me about $75 a week, and pays for most of his gas.

Now I only drive the truck on the weekends.
