Side window air deflectors

Our Ranger is pretty noisy with the windows down. The wind also comes right at our ears which is annoying and/or painful depending on the speed you're going. Anyone tried any of the window air deflectors, and did they help much?
Thanks for any feedback.

still noisy just helps keep rain off ya. If you have a sliding back window open it and put the fan on vent lots better than the windows down on the highway.

The Ranger I bought in March had them on it, but they were in pretty sad shape, so off they came. I tried to figure a way to save them, but they were too far gone to be of any use. But they did provide some protection from the rushing air, as well as allowing the window to be rolled down a bit during the rainy times. My full-size Bronco has them and they work great, but it also has the vent windows that the Ranger lacks. I know I'll be putting a new set on the Ranger very soon, so I'd give them a try on your truck.

They do help if you are only cracking the window a bit.

I installed "Ventshade" window visors on my then new 99 super cab, to allow some cab venting & to keep rain & tree debris out while parked during our hot summer months.

Those along with a aluminum window screen work well to keep cab temps down.

At highway speed, with the door windows open, even a little, the wind noise is still objectionable to me, BUT I've found like Hank85713 has, that closing the door windows & going to "VENT" & opening the rear slider, is a quieter ride.

BUT, if I open the side windows even a little, with the rear slider open, I'll get a annoying back draft from the bed, through the open rear slider, that hits right on the drivers right ear.

It'll also suck in dedris from the bed with the door windows cracked & the rear slider open.

SO, I've found the door vent shades to be all but useless at highway speeds, because of wind turbulance & road & wind noise.

For me, they're ok up to about 35-40 mph, when the road & wind noise become an aggravation, so up go the side windows then.

Also for me, the rear slider window is useless, if the door windows are even cracked open a little, because of that back draft from the bed.

Just a bunch of Ranger window venting observations for pondering.
