25 PSI PLUS is what he posted. Stock sticks. I would bet his gague is off by three or four pands. That makes about a 8 percent loss. Not very accurate. More power to him if he can.

Well on flat ground i'm running between 2-3 psi, just like you said i should be. I am Dipricol guages and the boost gauge is connected to the map sensor, which i would think would be a pretty good location to get a boost signal from. When im over 25 its really really pushing it, up around 3200.

i can just touch 20 psi at the limiter on my stock sticks and i do have the cooler, so that would put me at about 22-23 if it were in a stock configuration i suppose

So using an intercooler will decrease boost?

Your going to loss a couple pounds lower with an IC because there is a little turbo lag. You can hit the same numbers without but it takes longer.

ok, cuz im looking into a spearco 6.0 i/c, should i expect the same amount of pressure drop as per say a 99.5+ 7.3 i/c?

I don't know the dimensions of the spearco, but if it's larger than the 7.3l stocker I'd imagine it would be worse.

you dont loose total boost numbers just because of turbo lag. in my truck i have virtually none, it is actualy more responsive with the cooler then without. the reason the boost numbers drop is because of the fact that you have more volume to fill with the same amount of air. the engine still demands the same amount to run at the same given loads and the turbo cant build as much boost with the "extra" space in the cooler and tubes. you are still putting the same physical amount of air into the engine but it is actualy denser since its colder.
you cant compare our obs truck boost numbers to sd boost numbers. they are 2 different systems. our trucks flow different amounts of fuel, and have larger turbo housings on them. the sd's can flow more fuel and have smaller housings on them and are wastegated.
on a typical obs truck you can expect roughly 2-4 psi drop in boost readings from adding an intercooler depending on which one you install. you have to remember that just because your gauge doesnt go as high it doesnt mean you lost power. the turbo is moving the exact same amount of air into your engine, technicly more just with less boost.

2stroke, you need to move the probe to the manifold, the dp reading is way off and varies heavily, completly unstable to trust as a reading. at 850 on your gauge you could be anywhere frmo 1100-1500 degrees. you really need to swap your probe location. the manifold is a piece of cake to get to and easy to get to even with a corded drill. you may be shocked to see hwo much difference you are getting after the changeover.

Ok thanx. On the matter of the probe in the down pipe, mine was in the dp but the new one doesnt have a place for it. So i was going to put it into the manifold, has anyone done a write up on this becasue im am very parinoid about getting metal into the turbo. I mean i want a new turbo but i have to tow some stuff on friday and can have it craping the can just yet.
