they did have me sign something when I dropped it off 3 weeks ago but I dont know what it was.Do you think by siging it I cant take my truck?Im mean the guy is nothing but nice when I stop down at the shop but he told me today your truck wont be ready next week i cant tell you that.im not trying to give them a hard time i just want the truck done i have alot of jobs that i need my truck for.what a night mare this is man oh man.your right though i cant make them work on it any faster and i should of gottin in writing how long it would take to do the job and i didnt.
Ohh my God, were they pop riviting in a repair piece to replace rusted metal, is this billy bobs backyard bodyshop? Lets just hope for some reason they did this to temporarily hold im position for welding or is clecos or something, and they plan to remove , weld up holes and treat later, but really can see why you would need to on a smaller patch panel.
Reminds me of some amateur body repair books years ago, showing them pop riviting in a patch and drilling holes to pull a dent, and then smoothering plastic filler over metal that still has holes.
Unfortunately your truck is there now, but others have found ways to cut there losses and get their vehicles out of shops before. If you do take to another shop, do your research on the shop. One geared more to restoration work, may be more inclined to do the type of work you are looking to get done without collision repairs getting pushed ahead, and see rust more often, but shop rate is typically higher. Sad also is there is less craftsmen in many shops today, with workers having less broad of a skill set (years ago, there were more combo men who often took repair on the vehicle they were working on start to finish) Now there is more parts replacement being done then actually repairing.
ok i was wrong they didnt pop rivet it it was welded my buddy told me they stuck the welder in and it made a bunch of holes in a row.but the point of the matter is the shop that has my truck only is doing about an hour of work to my truck per week and im tired of the lies and the waiting wouldnt you be? I bet you would.it will be in there shop one month come wednesay of this week.it should of been done by now.
Another thing I just noticed on the estimate paper they left where it says est completion date blank they must of did this to cover themselfs seeing they have had it so long.me knowing nothing about body work didnt notice this until now.If any of you are going to get body work done to your truck make sure you get in writing how long it will take to do the job or your going to end up waiting forever like me and being lied too.

As I said before.. this is not going to end well...
Pay them for the 4 hours they have worked on it ,, & start over...
No offense, but in 3 weeks I could have put all new sheetmetal on your truck and probably had the first coats of primer blocked. I'd have to take Action's advice, pay for the 4 hours labor they have logged on your truck and take it somewhere else.
I agree fordinmudd take your truck out of there i know it sucks and all sorry the shop did this to you man.pay them for what they have done and go to another shop.
ok I stoped up at the body shop today and all they have done in the last week to my truck is take the tail gate off the truck and pop rivet a piece of sheet metel on the tail gate that was rotted and thats all they have done in a weeks time.I dont know where to turn now should I report these guys to tyhe DMV?or keep waiting or take it out of there?what would you do? i have just about had it.
Did you give them money ahead of time? Even if you did take the truck out and bring it to someone who is competent. This place is NOT! THe longer you wait to remove it the more aggravated you will get and the more damage they will do. DO your self a favor and take it away. THen work on getting a refund for anything you have paid them. Dont walk R U N !
nope i didnt pay them anything yet.Im going there friday if its not done or near being done im taking it and paying them for whatever they have done im tired of the waiting game its been in this shop a month now.grrrrrr
I talked to the owner and there the truck is almost done.funny no work was getting done untill i talked to the owner like you said to do.the manager wasnt doing his job.I should get the truck back soon..thanks all
