he doesn't happen to run it on the dunes here in michigan does he??? i've seen one just like it if not..
Ya we ran the dunes alot last summer. that was him, and we are normally with a few stock dodges, and a wight super duty with an 8" lift 38's road armor front and rear bumper and role bar, and then there's, me. lol Im sure you have seen me up there then to, his just stands out a little more.
Look into toyo tires....ive run bfg both mud and at on numerous vehicles over the last 20 years(from jeeps to super dutys)....my buddy runs a tire dept at the ford dealer in vegas...turned me on to the toyo at and the toyo muds about 5 years ago....ive never looked back.....the toyos are quiet (both mud and at) and smooth no matter how many miles...and take half the weight to balance.....
also just because its a d rated tire doesnt mean it wont work in your application .
you need to check the sidewall for weight capacity....some old d rated bfg had the same ccc as a e-rated bridgestone.....
im running a 325/60/20 on my stock 20 rims in the toyo a/t ..its a 35.5" tall 13.50 wide D tire but the ccc is 3140# per tire,
the e-rated stock tire was 3400# per tire. I have a few friends running the 35-12.50/ 18 toyo mud tires on 2 diff duramax trucks both pulling heavy trailers at max GVW....the tires run great, are a true mud terrain tire that works in the rain, and will be balanced even when worn down, and on my jeep ive run them in the rocks with no flats or sidewall tears...they are every bit as strong or stronger sidewalls as the BFG....
I absolutely would recomend the Nitto Mud Grappler. I have 86000 miles on them and they are not worn out completely yet. They are on my 2001 Dodge 2500 subercab diesel and have performed flawlessly. I ahve the 38 15.50 R20 tires and have had great sucess wiith them. Just keep rotating them. I can't comment on the noise because I run stacks on my qorked diesel with no muffler. It is quite loud as you would probably guess hahaha.
38x15.50 mtz's on classic locks? he works a few miles from my house.
thats the one, small world. He hasn't been driving it as much lately because of fuel prices but he just bought the rear road armor bumper for it like 2 weeks ago and got it painted to match his truck, I think Ill be up at silver this weekend with him.
Don't mean to butt in guys but I too was planning on maybe swingin by the dunes or silver beach this weekend.
If i go ill probably be riding, i never drive up there on a holiday weekend, its sweet to go, but i dont like how bussie it gets, and now that i have my Banshee dune ready ill probable be taking that up there this summer. 16 dollars in gas or a 100, lol
Just put them on my truck Thursday...They are very very loud but ride great to be a mud terrain tire. They are real head turners though and really set the truck off. If the wear on them is as good as everyone says, then they will be the tires of choice for me in the future.
