my brother has a 2009 F250 with Nitto Mud Grappler (33") and they howl like a mother****er. it keeps my kids awake, and when i get my new truck, i want tires like those, but i want some that are quieter. can anybody suggest some tires that look as badass as Mud Grapplers, but have a bit better performance on road?
BFG KM2's, i was incredibly surprises with how smooth and quiet they are. My old BFG MT's(block style) were so loud and rough i couldn't hear the wind noise, or the radio if it was below 3/4 volume. Now the wind noise is way loader then the tires, you dont even hear them, and the radio doesn't get above 1/2, unless im rocking of course!
who the hell needs tires so aggressive and loud that they can't listen to the radio? i'll tell you who, people who care more about traction than ride quality. tires shouldn't look cool, they should be functional. if you don't want a loud mud tire, then go buy a thornbird or bfg all terrain.
Bfg Mud Terrains are by far one of the best running off-road tires out there, my brother is still running the same 35" tires he bought 5 years ago. I found that the sidwall is a little thin for airing down too much. I am currently running bias ply 38" Super Swampers on my Jeep and they are loud!!

First of all, I wonder if his radio is a piece of ****. If my cd player was 3/4 you don't need to worry about tire noise. Hell, you can't hear much of anything. Also, I assume you are not trying to say BFG A/T's are mud tires lol.

Maybe one of the best. But not the best. I can think of many other tires that are better then those. Swampers are mud tires. The pavement noise won't bother you if you stop driving that thing on the street.
I love my Swampers but I also don't drive the Jeep on the street all that much either. I have driven it from Ft. Worth to Clayton Oklahoma, wheeled it all day then back to Ft. Worth and besides being a little loud they were fine. I have also driven it from Ft. Worth to down south of Austin and back and it was fine. Swampers are a little loud but they are supposed to be. I said that BFG's are one of the best if you take longevity, street manners and wheel-ability into consideration.
