2005 torqueshift rev. clutch replacement

My reverse clutch has slipped for a few months. I pulled the oil pan and found a broken retaining clip and few broken cast fragments. I reviewed the manual for the transmission and believe a can get to the reverse clutch at home. Other than visually damaged parts what else should i replace while i have the beast opened up. Also what special tools are required for the partial breakdown that are critical.

Yeah, but getting answers to internal transmission issues is difficult on any forum, especially a newer trans like the TS. I've never been in one, so I can't help.

You might try sending a private message to Mark Kovalsky (spelling?). He used to work at Ford as an engineer on their Transmissions. He really knows his stuff.

I don't know of anything to replace other than what's broken. I don't keep up with the aftermarket, so if there are better parts out there I don't know about them.

There was a problem with the reverse clutch snap ring in 2005. They made a change that didn't work out very well. I think you need to change the reverse clutch drum to get a better snap ring groove.
