Well I swapped over from two previous Dodge CTD 4x4 trucks. So far I am impressed with the ride quality and overall quietness of the ride. My previous 6.7L 07 CTD was horrible with fuel mileage due to the new emissions and it was even a manual tranny. What are some best practices to use on this truck, I have skimmed these forums and it looks like the oil change at 5K is a plus and possibly switching to synthetic? Its an 07 KR250 with 35K. Thanks in advance.
Oil every 5k. Fuel filters at 15k. Dont idle it and drive it hard every once in awhile and you should have a happy 6.0L. Do a search about maintenence with a member by the name of bismic. Tons of good info!
I bought my KR back in Feb 07 and since then, I MIGHT have put 200 miles on my F150...driving this KR is just that nice.
Yes, 5k oil change intervals works out just right. I've had my used oil analysed by Blackstone and keep getting great reports so if it ain't broke...don't fix it.
Don't forget your leather. Saddlesoap the leather at least once a year...some guys do it more frequently and use neatsfoot oil after the saddlesoap. I use a product called Lexol a couple of times a year to treat the leather. I talked to some horse folks who use it on their saddles and I've been pleased thus far.

Thanks for the plug! I do have a couple of spreadsheets that have become VERY extensive. One is on maintenance and troubleshooting and the other is on mods. They are pretty well indexed and organized. Anyone that wants copies can PM me with their email address. I have sent out 75 or so over several forums, but I don't keep up w/ my PM's every day.
Thanks for all the info. I threw some wax on it today and I plan on tackling the seats this week. The front ones are def lighter then the rear due to the sun I am sure. I am going to try a combination of KR oil, Lexol, saddlesoap to restore the color. Any suggestions on the frequency of intervals? I was thinking saddlesoap first then some KR oil?
Yes, clean them with the saddle soap first...then Lexol, or neatsfoot oil, or mink oil, or KR oil.
Lexol makes a non-darkening formula that I use in the center of the seats. Sooner or later, the outsides will stay dark and the centers will be lighter...but for now I really can't tell the difference. Time will tell.
