maybe this will save you some time....I spent an hour or so trying to slide out the old one...got frustrated and took a BFS(big $%^&$#@! screwdriver and levered them out after disconecting accesible plug...got all 4 done in about a hour after realizing they wern't comin out easy...

Bought a new one, $60. Installed woks great. Will play with old one to see just how the fix works.

A bit better fix is to cut a penny the size of the resistor thingy (see tin foil method) and put the penny in replacing the resistor. Very solid and effective. This hasbeen posted before but I could not find it. I did it on my front doors and has worked perfectly.
