I know this has been asked a thousand times and I would just do a poll if I knew how, but whats you folks thought on 4" st stl exhaust turbo back? Magnaflow or MBRP?

Both are good exhaust set ups,I went with Magnaflow...the price is a little better. Magnaflow isn't very loud, but it sounds good when you get on the go peddle.

The whole truck regardless of the exhaust isn't loud unless you are on the loud pedal. If you look at them, they are all virtually the same, 4" mandrel bent pipe bent in the same areas, with hangers in the same areas, and similar mufflers. Pick your favorite vendor.

Not all exhausts are created equal- I bought a Diamond Eye kit and the fit was, shall I say, not perfect. I'd stick with one of the more reputable names- MBRP, Silverline, and MKO seem to get good reviews.

Yes, i forgot to mention that. I was comparing the big three around here, MBRP, MKO, and Magnaflow.

Which one of these would keep my truck sounding completely stock at regular driving and normal day to day driving?

My plan was to do this:
1)New intake..AIS or 6637 something along those lines
2)Analog gauges most likely Autometer brand for all 3 monitors
3)Tuner/Programmer maybe even DP-Tuner but keep the stock exhaust
4)6.0 tranny cooler if I can find on
5)6.0 intercooler if I can find one
*Mainly interested in the economy tune and if I towed a 5'er I would just run it in the stock position.

Would any of this work out?

That's a smart list, but from my experience, doing it over again, with your wants/needs:, i would do this:

6637
Analog gauges, DiProcol Optix series, perfect stock dashboard match. I want them in mine now.
Dp tuner/ T Wildman chip
6.0 tranny cooler is a smart idea for towing, the intercooler, i dont really think youll see a benefit from it. Towing with the stock program doesnt create much heat, compared to towing in 60 or 80 tow.

Looks like you can get a two position chp, stock and 80e, or even a tow program for the helluvit. You'd be suprised, towing a trailer under 6000 pounds or so, you EGT probably won't get out of control.

Thanks. I have heard good things about the 6.0 tranny cooler and have heard they are an easy do it yourself install for the 7.3's.

I have yet more questions...it the DP-Tuner and T Wildman chip two different things?

I am sure that I would just do the stock and economy settings for my needs. In that case, when I tow my 28foot RV i plan to run in stock setting and that would eliminate my need for a new exhaust system correct?

Why are you wanting to keep the stock exhaust? Just for sound? I have a Magnaflow system and I cant hear it inside the truck. I think it owuld be wise to spend the 300 - 400 on one just to be safe. I would definately think that the 80 econ. tune would get hot without an aftermarket exhaust.

Towing in stock would work with the stock exhaust. If you are towing around 6000# you could probobly get away with a tune and stock exhaust.

The aftermarket exhausts are not loud incase that is what you are worried about. I would do the exhaust just to free up air flow and increase performance and then you don't have to worry as much on the EGTs.
