Once I get the problem in post #1 fixed I need to get a new set of tires for my beast (1999 F150 SuperCab, 5.4L, Sport with the 16" wheels). I have had a lot of problems getting in and out of the garage at my apartment in the winter as it is up a steep incline with a sharp turn (often a 3 pointer) necessary to get in line with the garage door. Does any one have a reccomendation for a good snow/mud tire?
We had a set of Toyo M55's on the truck and they were great... but did wear fairly quickly (not sure about exact milage, we bought the truck second hand and it came with it).
We recently replaced them with a set of Michlein LTX M/S... while these are good tires and are quieter than the Toyo's, they don't provide the grip the that Toyo does (in either rain or dry). After approx 10,000km, the Michlein are not showing signs of wear yet.
I have Toyo M55s on my 1997 F250 HD and they have close to 60,000 miles on them. I am about due for new ones however, and will get the same tires. They are superb.
