Tachometer and other questions
Can anybody tell me why Ford chose to put tachs on the automatic transmissions and not the standards? Kinda backwards if you ask me.
Also, my '97 F-150 wipers come on by themselves from time to time. They'll come on at high speed and will not shut off until I turn the wiper switch to that position and back off. If I use the intermittent wipers they will not shut off unless I push in the washer button. Is this typical or do I have gremlins?

Tachometer and other questions
My '97 F-150 4.2L has an auto, but no tach.
I think that trucks with auto tend to have more options (excluding my stripped down model), therefore will be more likely to have a tach.
I have a friend with a loaded truck, minus auto. He has a tach to go along with his 5-speed.
Tach is optional.
