Aluminum Heads
:-staun
Hey guys, I have an excerpt from page 20 of the August 2002 issue of MM&FF.
Gone But Not Forgotten
If you happen to be running a Ford 292/312 Y-block engine in your Blue Oval ride, then you might be interested in this. Rick Smith of SpeedSmith, Inc is developing a new aluminum cylinder head specifically for for the 292/312 engine series.
Rick was an integral part of the team that created the Twisted Wedge head for Ford small-blocks and now, he is looking to see if there is enough interest in the mass production of a Y-block head. Several designs are already on the drawing board and offer the use of existing Y-block intake and exhaust manifolds, but may also accomodate some of the new intakes offerings that are about to hit the market. The cylinder heads could be sold as assembled pairs or bare castings. If you are interested, give SpeedSmith a call at (330) 682-6167 or drop Rick an email at speedsmith@zoominternet.net.
I must say, this has awesome weight, and something we y-block runners could most definitely use. The weight savings and power gains alone would be awesome! Please tell anyone and everyone about this, we need the numbers. Rick Smith MUST build these heads!!!!!
