Ok so I got a 90 f150 lariat. and need to remove the clip off of it. how many bolts is it to remove the clip and is it hard? I only ask Because I want to throw the 1992 front clip on my truck.
oh and one silly question. how involved is just changing a fender. becausde I only see the two bolts at the top by the cowl and the rest is Sport welded ?
Everything bolts on fenders to rad support . There is a bolt on bottom fender and possibly one half way up in door jamb(Been awhile) Remove all bolts and hood remove 2 rad support bolts and unplug everything it should come off. Don't forget the cowl off the newer front end *** they r different.
I just finished the same (almost it's a F250) conversion last weekend and it wasn't too hard. you'll also need the newer hood hinges...springs are the same, and bumper. I had a hard time with rusty bolts with my swap and had to used the torch for the rad mounts...and I had to fab a new bumper mount and add the extra marker and signal light to the harness, some say to use the newer harness but I found that soldering in the extra lights into the old harness easier than replacing it. have a look in my gallery there are some picts in there of the swap...
we got the "new clip" off the parts truck. the air gun broke the two fron bolts with the rubber bushings. where can I get these in case I need them on my truck if things get bad. (thinks to self WD-40 mine now!) the oil should help. I'll do it while we strip out the 4 wheel drive out from under it. I'll get some pictures up for you guys. we already had fun with the tourch.!
