Over the years I've used everything from natural chamois, terry cloth towels, cotton bed sheets and imitation chamois to dry off my cars after washing them. However I've yet to try the microfiber towels that you now see in the stores. Has anyone here used them and how did they work?
They are the only thing i use to dry off the car because they dont have lint. I also use the to clean off the wax, and my computer monitor as well. There kinda expensive though
I prefer good old fashion sheep skin chamois for drying. Microfibers are excellent for cleaning windows, removing wax and polish, ect ect. I also use them for applying and removing chrome/wheel polish.
I really don't care to use microfiber for drying simply because they hold water. After a couple passes over a wet body panel you'll have to grab another dry towel.
be careful not to by the super cheap ones as they suck and fall apart easy. they are deffinatly you get what you pay for type of thing. but yes i love them.
I'm with the chamois crowd - if you get a good one and take care of it, they can't be beat, imo. The micro-fibers work well, but they don't hold as much water and are not quite as absorbent.
But for the interior, or removing wax, the micro-fiber is hard to beat.
I started using microfiber towels last year and find they are excellent for waxing but leave a little to be desired in the drying department. I agree with Jimbo Beam a couple of passes and you are reaching for another towel
