Today, I went to tap the OD button to grab 3rd gear, as I often do in this mountainous part of town, , and the OD button suddenly doesn't work. I really need to have access to 3rd gear for EGT's(I've got a slow spooling 1.0 exhaust housing) and instant boost, any ideas as to how one would start troubleshooting this, besides swapping in a ZF6?? Mods are below......
Most likely the wires is chaffed/broke in the shifter, I replaced the shifter with wires (don't remember the cost) but I have heard there are other ways.
the wire is probably broken down where the shift lever pivots, you could repair it, but the new lever is only like $50 and the wires are real small and hard to splice.
Pop the switch out and test it to make sure the switch itself still work. It should slide out of the end of the shift handle. Its a normally open momentary switch. If its bad, Jason has the right idea with the chaffed wires in the shifter handle.
Thanks for the advice about the shift lever everyone, I'll give it a go.

I hope to! Tom sent me an email a little while back, Jody wanted to fit me in, after missing my time block last fall due to that wiring harness replacement disaster at the dealership. I haven't heard back from him yet, but he's always been good at communication.
