average time to paint and fix rust?
And often when a bodyman gives you a time, you can usually double it, lol. I don't think your stuck in bodyshop jail yet.
But rust repair, and a complete paint job can take some time, and on your typical few years or older truck, likely your going to run into dings, chips and scratches to prime and fix as well as well as time to remove and install parts and possibly wetsanding and buffing time after the paint job. I don't think two weeks is really a long time for that type of job, especially if they have other things they are working on.
Why not stop down and check progress, and see where there at, and what kind of time frame you are looking at. You and the shop should stay in communication, so you know where your at, and if there is a hold up or setback, why. Too many people see shows like overhaulin or because some production shop can hack one out in a day or two, that that is the real world.
I'd stop down just to find out what kind of progress they have made. Don't become a pest, but to remind them you are looking forward to having a glossy fixed truck back. But I wouldn't really pressure them too much that they rush to get it done, possibly sacrificing the quality of the finished job.

Rust repair is not an exact science...you fix what you find ...
If they are sticking to the "estimate ",,,leave them alone..
I quit repairing rust 15 or more years ago , because I was expected to know (in advance ) what needed to be done...
Its like filling a cavity at the dentist, with out the aid of an X- ray,,Or trying to tell how many termites you have behind the drywall, or siding ...(impossible)....
Not only do you have to fix what you find...you have to anticipate what might happen....
Rust isn't like repairing a dent...A dent begins to get better the minute you start working on it ,,,& they never come back...
You will long forget what you paid ...but if you get a bad job,,, you'll never forget it....
