White Smoke

I just filled up with fuel today and drove maybe 30 miles and shut it off when i started it up again about 3 hours later i noticed a big puff of white smoke never seen it before then when i get on the gas a little it puffs out smoke. i have no mods on the truck its a 2000 f250 119,000 miles could it be water in the fuel?

Water in fuel is a possibility. Check your fuel filter and your othe fluids...let us know if you see anything odd.

Also it just occurred to me that you may have gotten some bad fuel, if this all happened after you fueled up..

Welcome to FTE!!!

I would have to agree with the circumstances that it sounds like bad fuel. But also alot of the time white smoke can be unburned diesel. I would keep a close eye on it, everytime you start it for a little while watch your tail pipe in the mirror. A little bit of white smoke on start up is half-way normal on these truck. But it gets more consistent and/or worse you might a glow plug issue or under valve cover wiring harness/injector issue. Good luck and let us know.

Did you catch the fuel in something clear? Or put in a clear container and look to see if the fuel is separated from the water. Water on the bottom and fuel on top.

That will tell you if there is water actually there.
