Smoke: diagnostic assistance needed ...

So, @ 50K miles, I'm noticing some smoke ..

1) When "getting on it" (like 20 psi Boost & 3K RPM), it'll leave a puff of black smoke when it really starts to throttle-up, then it stops smoking.
2) On a cold morning @ start up, it'll puff out a cloud of blueish-white smoke that has that sweet diesel smell.

I run an Edge Insight ... all temps are in spec & hadn't had any codes in a long time. The International 6.0 runs good overall. What is the smoke trying to tell me?

Hows the Coolant leval

If it smells like coolant the egr cooler might have sprung a leak Better pull the EGR Valve out and check for coolant in its chamber

A sweet smell in the exhaust usually means Coolant problems

Coolant level is steady .... I put a piece of tape on the degas and check it for level consistency from time to time. It's always dead on.

I've had both the oil cooler & EGR cooler replaced twice already. Each time for temp differential issues.

Well if thats the case doesnt sound like the EGR Cooler went bbad

Have you verified the coolant leval since the smoke started??????????

Thats good But doesnt mean the Egr Cooler is good

It could have a Manufacture Defect

A Bad injector could cause smoke issues to

CCV Reroute time

if I do alot of short trips, my truck will blow smoke. I pulled my intake boot off and the interior of the intake and boots are full of oil from the CCV

if I drive the truck for longer trips and harder runs, the oil cleans up and she won't smoke at all.

pull off the intake boot and look down inside the intake manifold. see how much oil you have in there
